Marisa Bavand provides litigation services and counsel to construction industry and government contract clients. She specializes in representing general contractors, engineers and public and private owners in complex construction disputes. Ms. Bavand has handled litigation and trials in State and Federal Courts, and participated in numerous arbitration hearings involving government contract disputes, the Miller Act, construction contract claims, bid protests, lien actions, subrogation and surety issues. In addition, she has extensive experience in successfully resolving disputes in a cost-effective manner utilizing ADR. A representative number of construction disputes in which Ms. Bavand has been involved include the Plutonium Finishing Plant and the Environmental Remediation Contract – Group Four Excavation Project at the Hanford Nuclear Reservation, the W Hotel in Seattle, the Cingular Wireless Data Center, the Seattle Light Rail System, the Seattle Fire Station 10 Project, the Hood Canal Floating Bridge Improvements, the Head of the Hylebos Environmental Remediation Project and various other complex construction disputes throughout the Pacific Northwest.
